What is the difference between private training lessons and the board and train programs at Red Maple K9?Private training lessons at Red Maple K9 involve one-on-one sessions between a professional trainer and the dog owner, where the focus is on teaching the dog obedience and manners, addressing specific behavioral issues, and building a strong bond between the dog and its owner. These sessions are tailored to the individual needs and goals of the dog and owner, providing personalized attention and guidance. On the other hand, the board and train programs at Red Maple K9 involve the dog staying at the facility for a designated period, during which the professional trainers work intensively with the dog to address behaviour problems, teach obedience commands, and socialize the dog with other pups and people. This program allows for immersive, round-the-clock training and is ideal for busy pet owners who may not have the time to dedicate to intensive training. Both options offer valuable training experiences and are designed to help dogs and their owners achieve the desired behavior and obedience level. Choosing between the two depends on the specific needs of the dog and owner, as well as the level of involvement and commitment the owner is able to provide to the training process.

What does a typical first lesson look like at Red Maple K9?At your first lesson, you can expect a combination of one-on-one coaching, hands-on exercises, and actionable steps to continue training at home. The first half of the lesson, I take the time to get hands on with your dog. This allows me to learn more about your pup's personality and develop a relationship. We will go over some of your training goals and begin addressing the foundations. During the second half of lesson the owner gets hands on so they can replicate the training at home by themselves. Ultimately, our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and tools to understand your dog's behaviour, and to build a strong and trusting relationship through clear communication and consistent training. Whether you're working on basic commands, obedience training, or behavior modification, our experienced trainers are here to support you every step of the way.

Do owners also attend training lessonsYes, at Red Maple K9, we highly encourage owners to attend training lessons with their dogs. Our approach to training involves working closely with both the dog and the owner to ensure a successful and lasting result. By involving the owners in the training process, we can address any specific issues or behaviors that may be present in the home environment. Additionally, our trainers can provide valuable tips and techniques to owners, enabling them to continue reinforcing the training outside of formal lessons. We believe that involving the owners in the training not only creates a stronger bond between the owner and their dog but also leads to more effective and consistent results. If you have any family members or friends that will be involved in the pup's life we recommend bringing them to lessons as well!
